If you use a persuasive sales page, the reader will respond more to a video with just a little curiosity-grabbing text, than to a long text salespage. Videos are especially effective to SHOW a demo of what your product can do, or sample results of your work, rather than trying to explain it. People also respond better to a human voice behind it than to text.
If you notice the Google search results when you enter in broad keywords, you will often see a small sample of images as well as videos.
