Online video can be used to build your list.

The mantra of many online marketers is "the money is in the list". This is because if a visitor sees your site once it may be the last, but if your site entices enough to get the visitor's email address, you know you have a serious interest and your chances of future sales to one person on your list are far greater than even several visitors a day.

So how does video play a role in this? Video gives enough interesting motivation or useful information as a teaser to get a subscriber to "step 2" video, or see the next "secret tip", or subscribe to monthly video tutorials, etc.

I've seen some successful marketers launch a new product effectively with only a "coming soon" video to raise excitement and expectation when subscribers await news of the launch and "be the first" to grab the new tool ahead of competition. Then on launch day, they're led to another video that effectively convinces the viewer why investing in this will be more profitable than worring about the price, then the video redirects to the final sales page or the purchase button. This has now become a standard practice. I've seen such marketers bring in 10's of thousands of dollars in one day.
